NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Welcome to 5W!

Our first full week got off to a very busy start with parent-teacher's meetings and our athletics day.

The pupils in 5W made their own school buses so we could get to know each other a bit better (resource can be found on www.uniqueteachingresources.com).

 

Three of our many visiting flat Stanleys participated in our Inter-House Athletics day, took a quick tour of The Boardwalk, went to Addo National Elephant Park and took a trip to the Karoo.

We are 'hosting' these Stanleys and 'showing' them around town. At the end of their stay we will send them back home with a journal of their visit, some postcards and the pictures of their adventures.



Our surprise package from Russia!

 What a fantastic surprise! A package arrived for us from Russia today...

..with many little interesting gifts.

Thank you so much to our Russian friends! You caused much excitement in our classroom today.




It will be very interesting to learn how different life is in Russia!

Our shadow puppets

 Well done grade 5's! We had a lot of fun seeing which shadow puppets worked well and which did not.

Our Flat Stanleys go abroad!

Today we made three Flat Stanleys and bid them farewell as they are about to embark on their exciting adventures around the world. Thank you to the schools who volunteered to host our new class members. We look forward to seeing and hearing all their exciting stories!
